Student Branch Chapters and Affinity Groups create focused communities for deeper engagement in technical domains and inclusion initiatives. They operate as technical or community sub-units that host meetings, talks, and projects aligned to their scope while supporting Branch-wide goals.

• Technical Societies (example scope): Computer Society, Communications Society, SMC Society, Control Systems Society
• Affinity Groups (example scope): Women in Engineering (WIE), Young Professionals (with STEP interfaces)
• Chapters are expected to hold regular technical meetings and maintain active membership participation
